iHerb, a top online retailer of health and wellness products, had a record-breaking year in 2024 with over $2.4 billion in net sales. This milestone, the highest in the company’s history, was driven by strong customer demand and a focus on excellent service.

The company successfully processed 37 million orders across 180 countries, reinforcing its reputation as a global leader in Health and wellness.

2024 Highlights

Outstanding Growth:
iHerb achieved $2.4 billion in net sales, marking a 14.5% increase compared to the previous year. The company’s expanded product offerings and improved customer engagement played key roles in this growth.

Its Anniversary Sale in September 2024 set records for sales, new customers, gross profit, and adjusted EBITDA. The month-long event generated $250 million in net sales, with 34 global markets surpassing $1 million each, solidifying its position as a major global sales event.

Customer Loyalty and Engagement:
In 2024, active customers rose by 20% to 12.4 million, contributing to 37 million orders. Repeat customers accounted for 73% of these orders, underscoring strong loyalty. Despite growing demand, iHerb maintained a customer satisfaction rate above 90% and an impressive Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 85.6% among the most recommended retailers.

Expanding Product Options:
iHerb introduced nearly 250 new brands in 2024, including collaborations with well-known names like The Vitamin Shoppe, Martha Stewart Wellness, Living Proof, Olaplex, and Celsius. Offering over 50,000 products, iHerb provides a wide range of health, wellness, beauty, and nutrition solutions.

Global Reach:
With localized products, a customer platform in 22 languages, and digital storefronts on platforms like Amazon, JD, and Coupang, iHerb expanded its presence worldwide. These efforts strengthen its connection with consumers in 25 global marketplaces.

Operational Advancements:
Operating seven logistics centres across the U.S. and overseas, iHerb ensured an average global delivery time of less than five days, with nearly half of all orders arriving in under three days.

By adding over 20 new shipping methods in 2024, the company reduced costs, introduced free shipping to 80 countries, and prepaid duties and taxes for expedited clearance in 50 countries.

CEO’s Perspective:
“2024 was a remarkable year for iHerb, despite challenges like inflation, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical issues,” said Emun Zabihi, CEO of iHerb. “Our commitment to quality products and a smooth shopping experience has earned the trust of millions of customers. As we move forward, our mission remains to make Health and wellness accessible to everyone.”

Future Plans

Building on its achievements, iHerb aims to expand product lines, strengthen customer relationships, and innovate to meet changing consumer needs. The company is opening two new fulfillment centres in Dallas, Texas and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to improve delivery times and accommodate growing demand.

Key Growth Strategies:

  1. Expand Customer Base and Loyalty:
Invest in targeted digital campaigns to attract health-conscious consumers. Enhance loyalty through personalized shopping experiences, localized content, and faster delivery.
  2. Broaden Product Offerings:
Add more well-known and emerging brands and proprietary products to meet consumer demand for everyday health and wellness essentials. Expand into related categories to capture a larger share of the $1.3 trillion total market opportunity.
  3. Achieve Operational Excellence for Sustainable Growth:
Optimize supply chain processes, improve fulfilment capabilities, and expand logistics to deliver faster while keeping costs low. These efforts aim to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction worldwide.
