Advertising Policy for Nationalist News

NationalistNews.ca is committed to delivering high-quality, relevant content to our readers while maintaining editorial integrity. Our advertising policy ensures that all advertisements align with our values, legal standards, and the expectations of our audience. This policy outlines the guidelines for acceptable advertising content, placement, and practices on our platform.

1. General Principles

  • Alignment with Values: Advertisements must align with the mission and values of NationalistNews.ca, promoting content that respects national pride, cultural heritage, and community standards.
  • Transparency: All advertisements must be distinguishable from editorial content, labelled as “Advertisement,” “Sponsored Content,” or similar terms.
  • Compliance: All ads must comply with applicable Canadian laws, including those enforced by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and Advertising Standards Canada (ASC).
  • Non-Discrimination: While we reserve the right to refuse ads, decisions will not be based on unlawful discrimination, such as race, religion, or gender, unless the content violates our content standards.

2. Acceptable Advertising Content

  • Content Standards: Advertisements must not contain:
    • Hate speech, violence, or discrimination.
    • Obscene, offensive, or sexually explicit material.
    • False, misleading, or deceptive claims.
    • Promotion of illegal activities or products.
    • Content that undermines public safety or national security.
  • Product and Service Categories: We accept ads for products and services that align with our audience’s interests, including but not limited to:
    • Local and national businesses are promoting Canadian-made products.
    • Educational programs or cultural initiatives.
    • Political campaigns, provided they comply with Canadian election laws and our content standards.
  • Prohibited Categories: Ads for the following are not permitted:
    • Tobacco, recreational drugs, or related paraphernalia.
    • Gambling or betting services, unless legally licensed in Canada.
    • Firearms or weapons, except for licensed Canadian retailers complying with federal regulations.
    • Adult entertainment or services.

3. Advertising Formats

  • Display Ads: Banner ads, sidebar ads, and pop-ups are permitted, provided they meet design and content standards.
  • Sponsored Content: Sponsored articles or videos must be marked as such and adhere to our editorial standards.
  • Native Advertising: Ads designed to blend with editorial content must be explicitly labelled to avoid reader confusion.
  • Technical Requirements:
    • File formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, or HTML5 for digital ads.
    • Maximum file size: 500 KB for static ads, 2 MB for animated ads.
    • Ads must not disrupt site performance or user experience (e.g., excessive pop-ups or auto-playing audio).

4. Submission and Approval Process

  • Submission: Advertisers must submit ad content, including creative assets and target audience details, to ads@nationalistnews.ca at least 7 business days before the desired publication date.
  • Review Process: All ads are subject to review by our advertising team. We reserve the right to reject or request modifications to any ad that does not meet our standards.
  • Approval Timeline: Advertisers will receive feedback within 3 business days of submission. Approved ads will be scheduled for publication as agreed.
  • Revisions: Advertisers may submit revised content for re-review if initial submissions are rejected.

5. Placement and Performance

  • Placement: Ad placement is determined by NationalistNews.ca based on availability, campaign goals, and site layout. Premium placements (e.g., homepage banners) are subject to additional fees.
  • Performance Metrics: Advertisers will receive reports on impressions, clicks, and other relevant metrics, as agreed upon in the advertising contract.
  • No Guarantees: While we strive to maximise ad performance, NationalistNews.ca does not guarantee specific results, such as click-through rates or conversions.

6. Payment and Billing

  • Pricing: Rates are based on ad format, placement, and campaign duration. Contact ads@nationalistnews.ca for a detailed rate card.
  • Payment Terms: Payment is due within 30 days of invoice issuance unless otherwise agreed. Late payments may incur a 2% monthly interest charge.
  • Refunds: Refunds are not provided for approved and published ads unless there is a material error on our part.

7. Editorial Independence

  • No Influence: Advertisers do not influence editorial content. Sponsored content is subject to the same editorial review process as non-sponsored content.
  • Separation: A clear distinction is maintained between editorial and advertising content to preserve reader trust.

8. Termination and Removal

  • Termination: NationalistNews.ca reserves the right to terminate any ad campaign that violates this policy or for any other reason deemed necessary.
  • Removal: Ads may be removed immediately if found to violate our standards or applicable laws, with no refund for the unused portion
